Bradfield Southend Village Stores is a profit making community enterprise which opened in 2005 providing a shope and post office. It was partly financed by local people, many of whom are shareholders. It is controlled by a Management Committee and is currently housed in a temporary building int he car park of Bradfield Village Halls. They hope to get a permanent building within four years.
Bradfield Southend Village Stores is a truly enterprising group that has worked hard to re-open a shop and post office after the earlier facility closed.
An Enterprise Fast Track grant combined with funds raised from local supporters helped the group to access advice, training and equipment. A dedicated team of staff and volunteers appreciate the interaction with customers and increased knowledge of technology. They have received staff training from the Village Retail Shop Association Development Worker and have been awarded a further consultation and training in 2006.
